"I did a full workshop in Berlin; it was a wonderful time and the tips and techniques and discussions ranged from very basic to more advanced. As a new Leica shooter it was great for me to be mentored by someone who really uses his Leica and knows its every possibility ... Thorsten's well-brassed Leica's tells their own stories. It was also great to be with other Leica users (the workshops don't demand you have a Leica, but it does attract a lot of Leica users naturally), and to see the way they frame things.
Which brings me to what I think was the best part – the actual photography. We essentially wandered Berlin, going to cafes, going for dinner, taking pictures all the time, comparing notes, discussing important tips as they occurred. Thorsten was a stylish, class act and his elegance of lifestyle and his photography style and the choices he makes go hand-in-hand. One of the main things he emphasizes are the pursuit of good light (something we all need), and what I would call 'shooting confidence and professionalism'. The workshop has this informal quality, yet you always feel like you're learning, like you have a job to do. If you've read his extensive articles/reviews or watched his YouTube clips, you'll get a sense of his 'way of being'. I'd highly recommend his workshop."

Mostar Bridge Town
Mostar Bridge Town. Bosnia and Herzegovina. June, 2023
The view from our choice of coffee place: The famous UNESCO-designated Old Bridge in Mostar, located in the Old City of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, dates back to 1557. However, it tragically collapsed in 1993 during the war. The discussions regarding who caused its collapse and how it happened have yet to provide a definitive answer. Nonetheless, the bridge was rebuilt, and in the aftermath, it has been recognized as a symbol of the reunion of people on both sides. iPhone photo. © Thorsten Overgaard.

A wine bar by the stairs of Old Bridge in Mostar took the prize of being not touristy, but instead an oasis with floating jazz music and guests enjoying the sunset and and a trio of wine for 10 Euro - while looking at people.
