Never been before. I arrived after midnight, picker up my car and drove to a local hotel in the center of the city, by the beach. I had expected Malaga to be smaller, a little hipster perhaps. Instead it was very touristy, so I was out of the center before you could say 'Tinto de verano'.

Ronda, Málaga, Spain. July 11-12, 2019.
Drove from the Malaga Airport to this little gem, a hotel on a mountain-top with a view to die for. Captured some great light and got to send postcards to friends around the world while sleeping through my jetlag on and off.

Almuñécar, Málaga, Spain. July 13, 2019.
My first time in this part of Spain, working on an assignment. It's a fairly touristy spot. Malaga is more busy, and Almunecar is a very quiet place. Spain is a beautiful country!

It's a hard life :-) The things I have to endure in my job. This young dancer and his sister (or mother) was amazing. The whole performance is done with very serious faces, and with a language that is not current Spanish (hard to understand for Spanish people too), but one of the songs was about how people in the town spoke bad of her father and she wouldn't take it anymore. Drove to Madrid, had a tour of the Church of Scientology, a coffee and dropped the car off at the airport. I had an idea to continue to Barcelona and Paris ... but it was just too hot, and the internet too slow. So hopped on an airplane.

The Hollywood Forever graveyears is acutally a drive-in graveyard. I didn't think much of it to begin with, but I don't recall having see any other graveyeards where you can drive up to the grave and park the car next to it.

I have made a few essential Presets for Lightroom which do minor adjustments to the Leica files, so as to get the tones exactly how I want them.
The Presets have as their ideal, the Leica M9 sensor, as well as the Kodachrome film (which also happens to be the ideal for Leica, when they developed the Leica M9 sensor). Not that it matters much, but that is the reason why I made my own Presets: To get the that look, rather than a “digital sensor look”.

"Unlike other books I’ve read on the subject of composition, the 'Composition in Photography - The Photographer as Storyteller' is not a reference manual (or imitation of such.) Thorsten Overgaard is quite frank from the very first pages that the purpose of the book is to inspire and share his experiences and techniques, rather than analyze the work of photographers as a gallery curator or an art critic would.
