From the introduction by Thorsten Overgaard:
A view of two falling stars in the sky above a beach.
This was the poetic beginning of how I met first Mia's mother.
Then I met Mia Bego, the 15 year old girl with a fiery intensity and an
attitude as if she's lived longer than all of us together.
Mia is BIG, and she knows it.
I saw her drawings and asked her to make a mural for me in Florida,
and then another in Los Angeles celebrating the Native American tribe
that first owned that land.
Since she was a baby, though it’s hard to imagine she ever was,
she could play the piano and she knew things that others didn’t.
More to the point, she saw them in a unique and true way.
She plays guitar, writes songs, and in between
the sound of the typewriter fills the house from her corner room w
ith the great view and the beautiful light. She writes poetry.
Her work is filled with lines that any songwriter
would give their right arm to be able to do, such a s this :
With your hand in mine and I turn to you
Having your brown warm eyes fill my stomach
With little, fluttering butterflies
I hope you will enjoy this first view into her writings.
Remember, you saw it here first.
